A remarkable shot of Buenos Aires' Floralis Genérica by Trey Radcliff. There are plenty more where that came from – click the link.
An old clip, but a good one. Patty wisely leaves out the schmaltzy bridge which almost wrecks the original.
Argentina play Uruguay at football tomorrow night. It’s one of those proverbial “crunch” games. To the winners, a place in next year’s World Cup; to the losers, buckets upon buckets of slime from their own fans and media. (A draw brings Ecuador, who play Chile at the same time, into the equation, God only knows how.)
An Argentinian friend told me last night that she was half hoping the national team would lose. This, she argued, would serve Diego Maradona, and everyone who blindly puts their faith in Diego Maradona, right.
She hopes for no such thing, of course, and I don’t suppose her quislingism will outlast the (stirring) first two bars of the national anthem. But will the lazy element of the foreign media which never tires of the trope, “Argentinians think Diego Maradona is God,” please take note?
It's been a few months since I started looking for a suitable productivity tool. I've wasted a lot of time hunting for the right one, missing several crucial deadlines along the way.
I'm going to try the "world-famous", "life-enhancing", "revolutionary" Pomodoro technique, in part because several people have recommended this web app: www.focusboosterapp.com
I'll just check out this viral video before installing it…
